Pathophysiological changes of external respiration in children with kyphoscoliosis

100 adolescents aged 5 to 18 years with varying severity of kyphoscoliosis were exposed to the X-ray, computer-assisted magnetic-resonance and spirographic imaging. It has revealed that the degree of deformation of the thoraco-lumbar spine depends on the indicators of pulmonary function system. The analysis of the data showed that there is a changing lung function: vital capacity, respiratory frequency, tidal volume, minute volume of respiration, reserve volume, inspiratory and expiratory flow, forced vital capacity, maximum ventilation.
