Availability and quality of health services as determinants of health of children with congenital and acquired malformations (experience of sociological research)

The present article tells about evolution of the definition of “morbidity”. It gives both a historical background and a present day status of morbidity of population in Russia. The authors of this article examine disadvantages of traditional study methods in respect of registration of child morbidity. They analyse possible ways of the use of new information technologies, which allow specialists to switch from the analysis of the number addressed sick children to the individual statistics. The latter makes it possible to divide child population regarding age, sex, nature and gravity of morbidity, the cost of abnormity in a certain age-group.
