Volunteer team work experience in a children’s city polyclinic

The paper describes the sense and gives a brief history of volunteerism and shows the reasons for its actualization in Russia, particularly in child health care. It also analyzes the value of volunteer activities for professional development of future social workers in the context of the organization of practical forms of education of students at universities during the transition to new educational standards. The article summarizes the results of scientific and practical conference "Volunteering to child health care: contribution, experience and perspectives", held on the 1 June 2011 in the children's rehabilitation hospital "Scientific and Practical Centre "Bonum" on the International Children's Day.
