Formation of a positive time perspective in noogenic neurosis in the conditions of euthymic therapy

This study is devoted to the little-studied problem of searching for conditions for the formation of a positive time perspective in neurotic disorders with symptoms of noogenic neurosis. Research in this area is extremely limited. Hypotheses of the study: 1) time perspective of patients with neurotic disorders with symptoms of noogenic neurosis is significantly different from the temporal perspective of healthy individuals, which is manifested in the predominance of negative attitudes towards the present and future time of his life and fixation on the past; 2) in terms of euthymic therapy (learning techniques of pleasure and good health), the patients formed a positive perception of temporal perspective. The materials of an empirical study obtained on a sample of patients (n = 23) with neurotic disorders accompanied by symptoms of noogenic neurosis, aged 30 to 45 years with an experience of the disease from 1 to 3 years, of which 52 % are female. In the study, two measurements were made of the time perspective of patients – before and after euthymic therapy. We used the semantic time differential by L. Wasserman, the time perspective questionnaire by Ph. Zimbardo, and the method of motivational induction by J. Nuttin. The results obtained make it possible to say that the hypotheses put forward have been confirmed. Euthymic therapy has a high potential for psychological impact for the formation of a positive time perspective in neurotic disorders with symptoms of noogenic neurosis.
